Our First Aid at Work Requalification (2 Day) course is designed for qualified workplace first aiders who need to renew their existing First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ) certificate before it expires. This intensive course refreshes essential knowledge and practical skills, ensuring learners remain confident, competent and compliant with current workplace first aid requirements.

What you will learn
Typical course content includes:
- The role and responsibilities of a workplace first aider
- Assessing emergency situations safely
- Primary and secondary casualty assessments
- Adult CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
- Safe use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Managing an unresponsive casualty
- Recovery position
- Choking
- Severe bleeding and shock
- Heart attack and angina
- Stroke
- Asthma
- Diabetes emergencies
- Anaphylaxis
- Seizures (including epilepsy)
- Burns and scalds
- Fractures, sprains and strains
- Head, neck and spinal injuries
- Chest injuries
- Eye injuries
- Poisoning
- Incident reporting and infection prevention
- Practical scenarios to refresh confidence and decision-making skills
By the end of the course
Learners will be able to:
- Refresh and update their workplace first aid knowledge
- Respond confidently to a wide range of medical emergencies
- Deliver effective CPR and safely use an AED
- Assess and manage casualties with life-threatening injuries or illnesses
- Meet current workplace first aid requirements and maintain their qualification
- Continue acting as a qualified workplace first aider for a further three years

Key Information
The course is delivered over 2 days (minimum 12 contact hours) and is suitable for learners who already hold a valid First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ) qualification and need to renew it. Successful learners will receive a renewed certificate valid for 3 years. The HSE recommends booking the requalification course before your current certificate expires to avoid any gap in qualification.
No previous experience is required.
